Jef
was born in Maine and grew up near Sebago Lake. In 1977 her family bought
a home on Drakes Island and she has summered here since that time.
In 2000, she moved to Maine full time, and she is enjoying the year round
beauty of this special place.
Her husband, David, works in the
software industry and is now fortunate to do much of his business from
home. She has two grown daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, a grandson and
another grandchild on the way. They all live close by, visit often, love
the beach and think of Maine as their second home. She has an Internet
business called Old Dog Cookie Company http://www.olddogcookie.com
that keeps her busy making and selling specialty dog biscuits for arthritic
and diabetic dogs. It's a business with hungry, happy, tailwagging clients
from coast to coast.
Jef has been a member of SOS since
it's beginning and on the board for two years serving as the secretary
and currently working on the new web site. She feels a strong commitment
to preserving and protecting our coastline. As a coastal property owner,
many of her concerns and interests have involved regulation and use limits
some groups would wish to place on private property. During this past year
she has presented testimony to both the BEP and the Natural Resources Committee.
She also currently serves on the Wells Beach Management Committee for the
town. She has been an active member of the Drakes Island Improvement Association
for 25+ years, serving as membership chair for 5 years. |
